HTSB Hawaiian License Fields:
Hawaii Teacher Standards Board Approved Preparation Programs with “Hawaiian Fields”:
After July 1, 2022: The initial license field of Hawaiian Language Immersion will no longer be issued. The license field has been renamed to Kaiaʻōlelo-Kaiapuni Hawaiʻi. Additionally, initial licensure in the separate fields of Hawaiian Language and Hawaiian Studies will no longer be issued. Instead, these two fields will be issued as a blend of Hawaiian Language and Hawaiian Studies with the license field name Hawaiian Knowledge. To add a teaching field to an existing valid and active Hawaii teaching license (including school counselor or librarian), the candidate must verify how they have completed the content knowledge and required experience. Provide verification of one of the content knowledge options and one of the experience options before the application can be evaluated. Please note that documentation is not needed for verifying Hawaii public school teaching experience (HTSB already has access to that database). |
