For Teachers Impacted by the Maui Wildfire Disaster

Aloha, The Hawai’i Teacher Standards Board (HTSB) recognizes the impact that the Maui wildfire disaster has had on educators.  During this difficult time HTSB will be extending the deadline for Maui educators to hold an active license/permit for at least the first semester of school year 2023-2024.  On January 2, 2024, the HTSB will reassess whether a further extension is necessary and will inform Maui educators regarding the length of the extension. HTSB will be also extending their services to provide educators on Maui with priority status in order to expedite the application process.  The Licensing Specialist is assigned by the first letter of the applicant’s last name.  Their names and contact numbers are identified below:
